Old Fashioned

The first cocktail ever made

Ingredients

  • 2 Ounces Blank and Booth Benchcraft
  • 1 Good Dash of Bitters
  • 0.5 Ounces Ginger Simple Syrup or a sugar cube
  • Orange Slice
  • Orange Peel

Preparation

  1. Muddle the orange slice in the bottom of your Old Fashioned Glass
  2. Fill half way with ice and add the Benchcraft Whiskey, Bitters and Simple Syrup
  3. Gently stir until the cocktail is nice and cold
  4. Twist the Orange Peel over the surface to release some of the natural oils and drop into the glass

This cocktail has been made since the 1800s so we didn’t want to mess with it too much. Our Benchcraft Oaked and Smoked American Corn Whiskey replaces the traditional rye whiskey, and we favor using a bit of ginger simple syrup over the classic bitters soaked sugar cube.
